A DRINK FROM PARADISE


ORANGE SMOOTHY

(you get 1 l of juice)

v  half kohlrabi
v  2 medium apples
v  1 banana
v  1 big kiwi
v  1 big orange
v  2 medium carrots
v  1 and a half glass of water

Buy a bigger kohlarbi and cut in half. One half cut into smaller pieces and put into a blender along with two peeled and sliced apples (if the apples are homegrown just wash them but do not peel them). Add a kiwi, an orange, carrots and 1 and a half glass of water, or maybe less if you want your juice to be dense. Blend all the ingredients and drink immediately. If you can not drink it all put the rest away in the fridge but only for a couple of hours.

What do you get from this kind of a drink?

Kohlrabi is rich with iron and vitamin C. It has minimal calories while giving you the feeling of being full. It boosts the immune system, regulates metabolism, neutralizes bad effects of free radicals, lowers cholesterol.

Carrot is rich in beta-carotene and besides being good for eyesight it is also useful for detoxification of the body because it contains large amounts of fiber and vitamin A.

Fresh apples, taken on an empty stomach, allow the body to quickly absorb nutritive and healing ingredients from them. An apple is an integral part of varous diets for weight loss. Being rich with pectin, it creates the feeling of fullness. Fructose satisfies the desire for sweets and at the same time it does not lead to the increase in sugar, glucose, in blood, nor the increase of the hormone insulin which turns sugar into fat. Recent research shows that tannic acid in apples prevents deposition of fat in the liver.

Orange contains plenty of vitamin C, B, provitamin A and vitamin E. One of the most important minerals contained in oranges are calcium and magnesium, potassium and phosphorus, but it also contains vitamin C.

Kiwi is rich in fiber, vitamins C and E, potassium. It contains a considerable amount of magnesium, a mineral important for cardiovascular system. It is a rich source of antioxidants because it contains carotenoids, lutein, flavonoids and chlorophyll.


Bananas are a good source of fiber, potassium, vitamin C, carbohydrates, B group vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, iron, calcium, copper.

VITAMINSKI KAŠASTI SOK

(dobija se 1l soka)

·                            v  pola glavice kelerabe
v  2 srednje jabuke
v  1 banana
v  1 veći kivi
v  1 veća pomorandža
v  2 srednje šargarepe
v  1 i po čaša vode


Kupiti veću glavicu kelerabe i iseći na pola. Jednu polovinu iseći na komade i staviti u blender zajedno sa oljuštenim jabukama (ukoliko su domaće oprati ih i ne ljuštiti), takođe isečene na komade. Dodati kivi, pomorandžu, šargarepu i 1 i po čašu vode, može i manje ako želite da vam sok bude gušći. Izblendirati i popiti odmah. Ukoliko ne možete popiti odmah odložiti ostatak u frižider i piti u toku dana, ne bi trebalo da stoji duže od par sati.

Šta dobijate od ovakvog napitka?

Keleraba je rudnik gvožđa i vitamina C. Ona ima minimalno kalorija, a daje osećaj sitosti, jača imunitet, reguliše metabolizam, neutrališe dejstvo slobodnih radikala, snižava holesterol.

Šargarepa je bogata beta-karotenom, a osim za vid odlična je i za detoksikaciju organizma jer sadrži velike količine vlakana i vitamina A.

Sveža jabuka, uzeta na prazan stomak, omogućava organizmu da brzo upije iz nje hranljive i lekovite sastojke. Jabuka je sastavni deo raznih dijeta za mršavljenje. Zahvaljujući sadržaju netopljivih vlakana – pektina, koja bubre u kontaktu sa vodom i tako rastežu creva, jabuka stvara osećaj sitosti. Prosti šećer fruktoza zadovoljava želju za slatkim, a pri tome ne dovodi do većeg porasta šećera, glukoze, u krvi, niti značajnije stvaranje hormona insulina, koji bi šećer pretvarao u masno tkivo. Novija istraživanja pokazuju da taninska kiselina jabuke onemogućava taloženje masti u jetri.

Pomorandža sadrži obilje vitamina C, B, provitamin A, kao i vitamin E. Od minerala posebnu važnost ima kalcijum ali i magnezijum, kalijum i fosfor i vitamin C.

Kivi je bogat vlaknima, vitaminima C i E, kalijumom. Sadrži znatnu količinu magnezijuma, minerala važnog za rad kardiovaskularnog sistema. Bogat je izvor antioksidanasa jer sadrži karotenoide, lutein, flavonoide i hlorofil.

Banane su dobar izvor vlakana, kalijuma, vitamina C, ugljenih hidrata, vitamina grupe B, vitamina E, magnezijuma, gvožđa, kalcijuma, bakra.

ST. JOHN'S WORT (CANTARION) OIL


St. John`s Wort is a plant that has always been used for medical purposes. It is a perennial and can grow up to 1m in height. Its flowers are bright yellow and are harvested in May and June. For the treatment use leaves and flowers.

This plant has a pronounced antibacterial effect and is used as a natural antiseptic.

St. John`s wort oil has a wide spectrum of activities and is commonly used for external use against sunburn, fresh wounds, muscle injuries, contusions and tissue for treating pimples, boils and swelling. This oil is very useful as for skin care, especially for dry and damaged skin and provides excellent protection from the sun and radiation.

For internal use, St. John`s Wort oil is used in abdominal pain, colic, inflammatory bowel diseases, uncontrolled urination and excessive mucus in the lungs (catarrh), for the treatment of liver, kidney, bladder and spleen, and intestinal parasites. It is effective for the treatment of inflammation of the ovaries in women and all rheumatic diseases. In combination with other herbs, it is an excellent remedy for colds. coughs and asthma. In recent years, cantarion is becoming a popular tool in the fight against depression. Therefore, folk medicine says that this plant is a cure for all diseases.

If you want to use this oil for internal treatment it is better to use olive oil instead of sunflower oil while preparing it.

St. John`s Wort is also used in cooking and as a seasoning for food, but also for soothing and relaxing massage. Its oil is an excellent tool for a massage with ischemia (lumbago), the pain caused by gout and rheumatism, sprains and back pain.

It is recommended to take 30 drops of St. John`s Wort oil, three times a day, for pain in the stomach and for calming nerves. For external usage, spread oil on infected areas on the skin or keep it as a compress.

How to prepare your own natural St. John`s Wort oil:
Ingredients:


v  St. John`s Wort flowers
v  sunflower or olive oil

  

Preparation:

Separate only flowers from the stalks and put them in a 750 ml glass jar. Pour the oil to the top of the jar and leave it in the sun for 40 days. Occasionally, slowly shake the jar and after 40 days filter the oil. Keep it in the fridge.









PRIRODNO ULJE KANTARIONA


Kantarion je biljka koja se od davnina koristila u medicinske svrhe. To je višegodišnja biljka i može da poraste u visinu do 1m. Njegovi cvetovi su svetlo žute boje i bere se u maju i junu. Za lečenje se koristi lišće i cveće.


Ova biljka ima izraženo antibakterijsko dejstvo i koristi se kao prirodni antiseptik.

Ulje kantariona ima širok spektar delovanja a najčešće se koristi za spoljnu upotrebu protiv opekotina, svežih rana, povreda mišića, nagnječenja tkiva i za lečenja bubuljica, čireva i otoka,. Ovo ulje je veoma dobro kao sredstvo za negu kože, naročito kod suve i ispucale kože, a pruža i odličnu zaštitu od sunca i zračenja.

Za unutrašnju upotrebu, kantarionovo ulje se koristi kod bolova u stomaku, kolika, upale creva, nekontrolisanog mokrenja i prekomerne sluzi u plućima (katar), za lečenja jetre, bubrega, bešike i slezine, kao i crevnih parazita. Odlično je i kod zapaljenja jajnika i svih reumatskih oboljenja. U kombinaciji sa drugim lekovitim biljem odličan je lek za prehlade, kašalj i astmu. U poslednjih nekoliko godina kantarion postaje popularno sredstvo u borbi protiv depresije. Zato narodna medicina kaže da je ova biljka lek za sve bolesti.

Ukoliko želite da ovo ulje koristite i za unutrašnju upotrebu onda je bolje umesto suncokretovog ulja sipati maslinovo ulje prilikom pravljenja ulja.

Kantarion se takođe koristi u kuvanju, kao začin, al ii za umirujuće i opuštajuće masaže. Njegovo ulje je odlično sredstvo za masažu kod krstobolje (lumbago), kod bolova izazvanih gihtom i reumatizmom, iščašenja i bolova u leđima.

Preporučuje se da se uzima 30 kapi kantarionovog ulja, tri puta dnevno, za bolove u stomaku i smirivanje nerava. Za spoljnu upotrebu, namazati uljem inficirana mesta na koži ili držati obloge od ulja.

Kako pripremiti prirodno kantarionovo ulje kod kuće:

v  suncokretovo ili maslinovo ulje




Priprema:

Od strukova odvojiti samo cvetove kantarona i staviti u teglu od 750ml. Naliti uljem do vrha i teglu ostaviti da stoji na suncu 40 dana. Povremeno okretati teglu da se promeša tečnost.

Nakon 40 dana procediti kantarionovo ulje i čuvati u frižideru.

GREEN SMOOTHIE REVOLUTION


In her book, Victoria Boutenko talks about how her life has radically changed when she turned to raw food and green smoothies.
I will list here a few of her recipes for delicious smoothies that she has shared with her readers in the book ‘Green Smoothie Revolution’. Victoria draws attention to the fact that we should never mix vegetables and fruits in green smoothies but only greens and fruits. This is because, according to Victoria, the greens do not contain starch as is the case with most vegetables. Combining starchy food with fruit can cause fermentation and flatulence.
Victoria also advocates to add greens to other types of food because of its nutritional value and the fact that the greens are high in fiber. Fiber in greens slows the absorption of sugar from the fruit, so green smoothies can be consumed by diabetics, as well as those suffering from candida or hypoglycemia.

The types of vegetable that are not combined with fruit because they are rich in starch are: carrots, beets, broccoli, zucchini, white radish, cauliflower, pumpkin, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, okra, beans, corn.

(1 l juice)
·         3 cups melon (cut into cubes)
·         9 sheets of Roman lettuce














ELIXIR FOR BRAIN
(2 l juice)
·         2 cups freshly cut Tusto
·         1 organic cucumber with skin
·         1 lime (drained)
·         2 ripe pears
·         ½ apple
·         2 cups of water




IMMUNITY BOOSTER
(1 l juice)
·         ½ cucumber
·         ¼ leek
·         ½ cup radish sprouts
·         1 clove garlic
·         4 tablespoons lemon juice

REVOLUCIJA ZELENIH KAŠASTIH SOKOVA


U svojoj knjizi, Viktorija Butenko govori o tome kako je svoj život iz korena promenila okrenuvši se sirovoj hrani i zelenim kašastim sokovima
Ovde ću vam navesti nekoliko njenih recepata za ukusne kašaste sokove koje je ona podelila sa svojim čitaocima u knjizi “Revolucija zelenih kašastih sokova”. Ono na šta Viktorija skreće pažnju jeste to da se u zelenim kašastim sokovima mešaju zeleniš  i voće ali nikako povrće i voće. Glavni razlog zbog čega se, po Viktoriji Butenko, ne kombinuje povrće i voće, već zeleniš i voće, jeste zbog toga što zeleniš ne sadrži skrob kao što je to slučaj sa većinom povrća. Kombinovanje skrobne hrane sa voćem može izazvati fermentaciju i naduvenost.
Viktorija takođe zagovara i dodavanje zeleniša u druge vrste hrane zbog njegove nutritivne vrednosti i činjenice da zeleniš sadrži mnogo vlakana. Vlakna u zelenišu usporavaju apsorpciju šećera iz voća, pa zato zelene kašaste sokove mogu konzumirati i dijabetičari, kao i osobe koje  boluju od kandide ili hipoglikemije.

Vrste povrća koje se ne kombinuju sa voćem zato što su bogate skrobom su: šargarepa, cvekla, brokoli, tikvice, bela rotkva, karfiol, bundeva, zelje, prokelj, bamija, mahunarke, kukuruz.
